Transitional Housing Placement
Plus-Foster Care {THP+FC}
Transitional Housing Placement-Plus-Foster Care (THP+FC) was created by Assembly Bill 12 (AB 12) and allows eligible foster youth to extend foster care beyond age 18 and up to age 21. The eligible foster youth are designated Non-Minor Dependents and are entitled to various foster placement options including Supervised Independent Living Settings. This new placement option provides transitional housing and supportive services based on a Transitional Independent Living Plan. AB 12 was authorized by the Federal Public Law (P.L.) 110-351, the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008.
As a social enterprise we strive to maximize housing benefits to the transitional age youth that we service and to society in general. Currently serving both Los Angeles and Ventura counties, with efforts to expand in the San Diego and Riverside county areas, Divinity Prophet and Associates transitional housing program utilizes the remote site housing model. Our clients are placed in units that vary from single occupancy to two and three- bedroom shared units. Weekly case management services help clients to embrace their dwelling unit as their own, thus fostering a sense of ownership and belonging. Additionally, clients receive a weekly allowance to help foster financial planning and money management skills required to move along the life skills spectrum to complete independence.

Innovative Trauma Informed Services
Divinity Prophet offers a suite of trauma informed services to our clients. Utilizing the three fundamental pillars of trauma informed care: safety, connections, and managing emotions, we provide youth with an evidence- based prevention and crisis management services to reduce delinquency and improve the standard of living. As direct services are provided, we follow along the complete spectrum from ensuring safety to establishing a sense of trustworthiness & transparency. This is achieved through a collaborative partnership effort. As clients learn to utilize their voice for self-advocacy and make informed choices that will foster resilience and strength, a sense of purpose is created thus leading to and culminating with the change process. In this final phase of change our clients are making conscious, intentional and on-going decisions that will end the cycle of generational trauma.

Parenting Plus
As a preventive practice Divinity Prophet and Associates strives to end the trauma informed cycle of parenting paradigms. As an approach to shift the paradigm of generational childhood trauma our staff strongly supports young parents in their endeavors to trauma free parenting. With a differential approach we offer supports to strengthen families utilizing the protective factors framework: fostering parallel resilience, social connections, parenting & child development, support of social and emotional competence of children and being the concrete hands on support in times of need. This fundamental approach includes mentoring, family planning, family mentoring and parenting classes that enable all of our participants the opportunity to demonstrate improved mental and behavioral health and well being and improve skills related to the adult role of parent/caregivers. Employment Empowerment Services
As employment is a direct determining factor of poverty, here at Divinity Prophet we target employment readiness skills. Workshops are provided to assist with entering the workforce by providing resume writing, job interview skills, soft employment skills and job readiness workshops. Clients receive coaching and individual guidance assessing employment barriers and developing employment plans. We provide re-entry assistance to those with criminal records offering service and support with expungement to remove barriers for both initial and continuous employment.
Independent Living Program/ Transitional Housing Program-Plus
{ILP/THP Plus}
ILP/THP Plus is a transitional housing program for young adults who exited foster care (including those supervised by Probation) on or after their 18th birthday and are not yet 24 years of age (25 in counties that have opted to extend services per SB 1252). The housing models and services offered are similar to those offered in THPP, but the rules about the program will be age appropriate for young adults.
Housing opportunities are limited due to the number of licensed providers in the Southern California area. It is our goal to assist with ending homelessness for all transitional aged youth; where we may not be able to provide a service, we are always available to provide assistance. As a former Independent Living Program (ILP) provider, we utilize our resources and remain connected with the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority (LAHSA) to assist with housing placement. Regional Violence Prevention
Working in conjunction with the County of Los Angeles Public Health, Divinity Prophet is one of several lead agencies that are a part of the Regional Violence Prevention Coalition with a focus area of mental health and healing. Divinity Prophet work in collaboration with local partners and stakeholders toward the progression of policy to practice and systems change within the Service Planning Area 4 of the Metro Los Angeles County areas.
